Why ZTNA technology is replacing VPNs?

Given the current context, and the need for massive homeworking, VPN solutions no longer seem to be adapted to manage remote access to the information system.

In the Market Guide for Zero Trust Network Access, released in June 2020, Gartner states that "Security and risk management leaders responsible for infrastructure security should...phase out legacy VPN-based access for users who don't need full network access begin phasing in ZTNA".
